Small products are usually packed and shipped more economically in some kind of an envelope rather than a box. Auto Bag

Auto Bagging technology provides a low capital cost and low consumable cost, easy to implement solution for packaging items that do not require a lot of protection using thin poly plastic material. An Autobagger can be integrated with your host system and shipping information printed directly on the bag. Typical applications include: pharmaceuticals, small hardware, replacement parts, and other durable items; also any item which need in-house packaging and is over packed for shipment.

Cold Seal

Cohesive packaging provides great protection at higher consumable costs. It consists of rolls of material that are pressed together to create a package sometimes referred to as a “ravioli”. The form factor of the package makes it especially suitable for books as they are wedged in and held firmly by the edges of the package. Material can be plastic or a paper corrugate type. Cold seal machines come in either vertical web or horizontal web. A vertical web machine is good for slower hand loaded applications, and requires less floor space. A horizontal machine allows easier integration of scanning, dispensing labeling and other automation and can even facilitate the ability auto-feed the products to the packaging machine. Clever designs provide for returnable packages.

Hot Seal

Another technology which shares some of the advantages of both Cold Seal and Auto Bag is the Hot Seal for bubble mailers. This machine offers automation capability with excellent product protection at a relatively low materials cost. Materials are also light, reducing both inbound and outbound shipping costs. The machine can be integrated with automated manifest, carrier rate shopping and print and apply shipping labels. Automated infeeds are now available as well.
