Checkweighers

Checkweighers are used for a wide variety of Quality Assurance purposes and also to manifest package weights with various parcel carriers. Our powerful checkweigh software can be used to provide fixed tolerance ranges for production line applications, or can be enhanced with host communications and bar code scanners or RFID to identify a specific order in a distribution application.

Accuracy is defined by the repeatability of the system and is typically specified to a 95% confidence interval; guidelines below should be considered preliminary as actual accuracy will depend on local conditions such as air currents and vibration, as well as conveyor speed. In actual operational, checkweighers are able to detect errors smaller than the accuracy quoted. Resolution is a function of the load cells and display to show a small difference, such as 0.01 lb. Resolution can be adjusted by limiting the display digits.

The Checkweigher controller can also serve as a system controller for conveyor systems and other automation.

Small Parcel Checkweighers

Starting under $10,000 with the 1100 PC Based Controller, our Small Parcel checkweighers provide tremendous value to maximize your automation spend. A single-post load load cell provides 5 g accuracy standard up to 25 lb. product gross weight at 60 ft/min conveyor speed, allowing you to save money by pre-manifesting US Mail. For even greater economy, we offer the 831 with a small micro-PLC controller offers even greater economy, starting under $8,000.

24VDC Roller Checkweighers

The 24VDC Roller Checkweigher utilizes a massive 3 in. square welded frame and 4 separate load cells whose outputs are electronically combined and digitized, allowing heavier weights and all kinds of custom configurations, we have provided the 951 scales for products as long as 7' long! Capacity is up to 100 lb. with a standard accuracy of 0.1 lb.

The 951 is a great general purpose checkweigher for distribution centers with larger and full case orders as well as a wide variety of other applications. It can also be provided with a belt over the rollers for special applications or to reduce bouncing for very small boxes.

Maintenance is a snap with very few moving parts. There are no pulleys, bearings, chains to lubricate or belts to track. Like the Small Parcel checkweighers, power is a simple 120VAC single phase (plug) connection. Although slightly more expensive than the 851 (starting at $12,000 with the 1100 Controller) the Roller Checkweigher is an economical, low maintenance and rugged system for general applications.

Heavy Duty Checkweighers

For very large high speed distribution centers, we offer our heavy duty belted checkweighers. Drive mechanism is a sealed 480V drum motor (4.5 in. diameter) with plenty of torque and power for nearly any application or speed. Due to the slider bed, accuracy is enhanced and standard accuracy is 0.1 lb with upgrades available to .02 lb accuracy. Although the checkweigher has 480V pulleys, power is still supplied from 120VAC for quick and easy installation.

In addition to other options, the belted series can be provided with smaller transition rollers to enhance its capability to handle small parts.
